“Staying at this B&B was an absolute delight. The serene beauty of the lawn and garden provided a breathtaking view of the sunrise each morning, setting the perfect tone for the day. The hosts, a charming elderly couple, were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. Their warm hospitality was one of the highlights of our stay. The interior of the house was beautifully decorated, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Our room was not only aesthetically pleasing but also equipped with all the necessary amenities. The hot and cold water systems worked flawlessly, and the heater ensured we stayed comfortable throughout our visit. A particular joy was the custom-made breakfasts, prepared fresh every morning. The flexibility to adjust the menu to our liking was greatly appreciated, as it ensured no food went to waste and aligned with our preference for environmentally friendly practices. There was a minor hiccup when we arrived in the evening—the doorbell at the main gate wasn't working, which led to a brief wait. We had to wave through the window to get the attention of the hosts inside. Thankfully, they saw us and promptly let us in, turning a moment of concern into a mere anecdote. Overall, our experience at this B&B was exceptional. From the stunning natural surroundings to the attentive and kind hosts, every aspect of our stay was memorable. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and welcoming retreat.”

“what a gem....pure unassuming Tudor opulence...Stunning Bed Chambers with the most comfortable bed ever... Yes its a price ...but trust me, Thornbury Castle is no Travelodge....dedicated workforce with great knowledge of the Castle. Nothing ever too much trouble...warm, clean ,Great Food....have a good wander round the gardens....This Castle borders on the perfection spectrum.....is there a UK 6 star ? This unique does not need a Star.....my only observation is an opulent Castle encourages the Nouveax Riche ....never judge a book by its cover.....look the mirror....just an observation ”

“We stayed here for 2 nights when attending a wedding in the town hall . The location is excellent. I was a bit worried by all the negative reviews I read the night before we travelled, however while the accommodation is very basic it is priced accordingly. The room was clean as were the bedding and towels. The beds were comfortable, there was a mini fridge, a kettle and tea/ coffee provided. The bathroom was basic but clean and functional . When we checked in we were warned about the late night events on Friday and Saturday so when we came back we just bought a bottle of wine and sat in the smoking area and enjoyed the craic. The DJ played a terrific selection of 80s music which was right up our street . The pub closed promptly at 1am and it was very quiet then. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. I had thought that breakfast was included and that I'd seen something online about a restaurant but didn't see any sign of it when we were there. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The girl who checked us in was lovely and when I asked brought an iron and ironing board to the room . The iron was excellent . Another member of staff who has an adorable wee dog called Marley brought us extra milk immediately when asked. The second night we went to bed at 12.15. We couldn't hear the music just some indistinct chatter from below but not enough to put us off sleeping. Again at 1am the pub was cleared and silence reigned. Check out was 10am and very quick. ”
