“This was our first time visiting Fiji, and first time staying at a 5 star resort. We were blown away by the entry area and warm welcome at first, but things quickly went south because of one staff member who handled our check in. We arrived at 2:45pm for our 3pm check in, as listed on the website. The staff member told us the room was not ready yet, and she will email us when it is. We figured it'd be a quick wait so we sat in the lobby. At 3:12pm, I got an email, and went to the counter. Turns out it was a false alarm and just saying that our booking is confirmed. We had a laugh and went back to the lobby to wait some more. However, by 3:45pm we were still sitting in the lobby area and given no indication how much longer we'd have to wait. I went to the counter to ask how much longer, and she immediately grabbed the room keys from a different drawer to a different room number than what she had told us initially. The room given to us was on the top floor, on the side of the building where the elevator was out of order. It was right next to the designated smoking area. The listing for our room was supposed to be a garden view, but we were instead given construction view. The water coming into our bath was yellow, and no matter how long I ran the water for it did not clear up. I honestly believe this was the worst room in the entire resort, and the staff member gave this to us out of retaliation. She probably felt annoyed by me returning to the front desk a second time, even though I only asked "do you know how much longer we need to wait?" The facilities were beautiful, every other staff member was so incredibly warm and helpful, and for a 5 star resort, this was great value for money. I cannot reasonably give lower than 4 stars because of all these factors. However, because of that one staff member, there is no way I'd return here again, especially when there are so many other options in Nadi. ”
