“The hotel was nice and the staff were great. They assisted us and looked after us. The staff at the ground floor checked on us while we were waiting for our ride, gave us directions when we were looking for a souvenir shop (there’s a good one walking distance from the hotel). The front desk staff were accommodating, allowed us late check out, arranged for our airport transfer, etc. The location was in a busy area. Convenient if you want to do some shopping. You can hear the busyness of the area during daytime. There’s a museum and casino beside the hotel as well. ”

“I chose this hotel as the others in the city could have been anywhere in the world - the Hilton/Marriott/Holiday Inn's of the world. I wanted something with character. I did not need a pool or children's facilities. This is a grown up hotel. There was a Jacuzzi that we did not use, but we were only there a couple of nights. The dining room is fantastic and well worth trying. The prices were comparable to a similar modern hotel. Lots of stairs though, that might be an issue for some. The room we had was spacious, had a mini bar with complementary (!) snacks, coffee maker and plenty of room to store our luggage and clothes. No ironing board, but I didn't ask for one. The bathroom was older but clean and spacious. Everything worked. There was AC but we didn't need to use it, we left the windows open to get a breeze and used the ceiling fan. It was a little noisy with traffic, but it is in a city, not the countryside, so that is expected. We had ear plugs (used them to block out the early morning monkeys in other parts of the country!). The building is a beautifully maintained period building in a quite modern city. Try it.”
