“The Rarotongan Resort is dated but the location on Aroa Lagoon is stunning and renovations are being done. Despite the property being dated, the staff are lovely (especially if you are nice to them too!) I never had a problem with any staff at all. It does pay to remember you're on Island Time, though, so patience is necessary. 😄The beds are comfy and our room was clean. We enjoyed the cocktails and live music each night at Andy's Bar and Grill, but you're better off going elsewhere for meals. The included breakfast, however, was good - cereals, toast, pastries, fruit, yoghurt and pancakes with maple syrup. This is our second time here and we'd happily come back again.”

“The initial impression may leave you feeling a little uncertain. Gravel driveway with pot holes. The property appears a but tired. With cracked stone paths that didn’t drain away when it rained. The food was a big hit & miss. The breakfast buffet was inconsistent and we always had to ask them to replenish & bring plates. The tea & coffee luke warm. Some evening meals were disappointing, not cooked properly but the Island Night buffet food was great. There is only was tv channel no satellite tv. The spa does not look anything like the pictures & is very average not offered a herbal tea or water. Overall the resort is a bit tired. The beach is not particularly snorkel friendly. The staff are friendly but often didn’t seem interested or enthusiastic. ”

“Arrive and slip into your swimwear. Swim up to the bar and order a cocktail. I recommend the Tobarone. The lagoon is spectacular with so many different types of fish to snorkel with or relax on on the Beach. There is a cool ocean breeze so the temperature is just right. The clockwise bus pulls in every ten minutes to the hour making travel around the island easy. The $35 concession card gives you ten bus rides. The resort food is everything you need and the staff are special, making the Sanctuary Rarotonga one of the best highly recommended places to stay.”
