“Pros: 1) Shelter over your head 2) Close proximity to Titlis and Stanserhorn. Cons: 1) Reception and restaurants were supposed to open till 10pm but they close early. Just like we were greeted with an empty reception at 7pm, with keys left out for us, so take note. 2) Amazing staff who gave us a room right in front of the lift and beside the breakfast room. Managed to take attendance of all the guests getting breakfast and taking the lift up to their rooms, hoping to get a best employee award. 3) Staff must have known my keen interest in soil and vegetation. Great view of the soil from my room (avoid room 37 if you are not a pedologist) 4) The ventilation in the toilet was making lots of noises due to the age of the hotel. We forgive the ventilation system as it is not their fault for not being maintained by the hotel. Just remember to off the electricity in the toilet! 5) During check-out, we were stuck behind a school group tour doing check-out too. The teacher took a long time as they were unaware of city tax and if his students were above 16 years old so he was going down the class list one by one. Asked the receptionist if we could check out first as we are quite fast and hopping to catch the train. The receptionist told me that “sorry they are here first so I will serve them first. You can wait a while.” Her admirable sense of inflexible, rule-bound and strong integrity left me awe-struck, I even forget to bid farewell to such a lovely establishment. Thanks to the rigidness, I have an hour wait at the station which sparked my literacy interest and allow me to complete this review. Looking forward to stay in the future here should I get an Amnesia :) ”
