“Great location on the bend of the Mersey River down its own private drive. The staff communication from booking to arrival was warm friendly and welcoming. They took the time to answer my questions and ensure our short break was as stress free as possible. Our first visit to Mersey Chalets. It won’t be our last. The cabin was excellent. Anything needed to be comfortable. Plenty of everything from washing up liquid to toiletries. The beds were comfortable and the linen clean. I couldn’t fault the cabin. Bear in mind it sleeps up to six people. This offers great value for money. The board walks and picnic benches are set perfectly to allow you to relax in the forest without feeling crowded out by other guests. We purchased a firewood bundle and sat enjoying a nice fire and bison steak cooked on the bbq provided. The box of wood was generous enough for 2 evening of fire side relaxation. More than enough to keep the insects away. We saw plenty of wildlife making its home in the treat. The cabins are situated far enough apart that one one intrudes. They could have packed more in but the would spoil the atmosphere. I enjoyed the complimentary canoes. Being a keep canoe tripper I was excited to explore. Shame the upstrea route isn’t very far before you encounter 250m rapid. Solo with the centre boat after scouting a route I decided my back wouldn’t thank me for attempting to portage. So after lunch my wife and paddled downstream on a royalex canoe. We could have gone a lot further but with low water levels the rocks were making it more of a workout. To conclude if you’re considering a stay in the area of the national park you could do far worse than choose Mersey Chalets and Nature Retreat. I will be returning. Even when PayPal tried to charge my twice for my stay the staff quickly and efficiently sorted it out. Thank you to all the team. We loved our stay. ”
